THE CENTRAL HIGHLANDS
is not a developed tourist center, which is a reason for its great charm and a possible vulnerability. Incas del Peru has worked hard to create a positive atmosphere so that both travelers
and the local people benefit from their relationship.

For example, we are working to build a showcase of the best local crafts in order to maintain
the highest standard of quality. In connection with this, we would like to create exchanges
between craftspeople from other countries and those from this area.
If you are interested in participating in this program, please
contact us .
We not only provide travelers with an opportunity to hike and bike through the region, but
also sponsor walks through the countryside for school children and bicycle races so that
there is a local appreciation of the
beauty of their surroundings.

Incas del Peru fights against the tendency of marginalized people to prefer things from the outside world
by building pride in their local customs and environment. One way in which we do this is by organizing garbage pickup walks at Huaytapallana, our sacred snow-covered mountain. Other ways in which we support the local community are through our
International Volunteer Work Programs, Rural Homestay Programs
and our campaign for the return of The Highest Train in the World .
